I believe in Angels. I believe that we all, every human being, has a Guardian Angel who never leaves our side as we breathe air into our human bodies and our hearts beat. There are truths in the world that we all hold dear. Sometimes our sense of truth can change as we evolve, sometimes due to what Judith Viorst, a journalist and psychology researcher called “necessary losses” and sometimes growing into an even more secure knowingness that what we believe and know is undeniably true.
I wish to share my own experiences with my Guardian Angel and wish to impart the knowledge, as I believe it and experience it, that all humans have a guardian angel who loves, guides, and supports us in all ways, always…unconditionally. Yes, unconditionally with no judgment from a spiritual perspective… no strings attached. This concept is a huge challenge for most of us here on Earth, yet true all the same.
The word angel comes from the Greek word “angelos” which means “messenger” and is used in relation to the Divine. While this is a spiritual term and often used in various religions this is not the case here. I am speaking of a personal spiritual connection. This entire concept calls for a greater opening of our human hearts and minds to begin to take in the potential for being cherished and guided more than we could understand with the level of human consciousness that most humans currently live. We have been directed, from young ages, to look outside of ourselves for meaning and purpose and the ever-present verbal and nonverbal rules of living within a family, a community, the outside world. Can we become curious and open to the potential for more Love and more Light energies to be created within us and around us for our ultimate joy, peace, and harmony? This sounds, even to me, almost laughable with current events and energies in our world, yet this Universal Truth remains true for every single human being as a spiritual potential. Knowing that we will not understand so many of the tragedies of life as we yet live our human lives with our limited perspectives.
A Universal Truth is a truth no matter what the circumstances and we are surely being challenged at present to question some Truths. This creates more of an opportunity to discover how this Truth of angels work in our own lives. If we make this choice. Angels abound, the Energy of Creation, the Highest Vibration of Love and Light, surrounds us with guidance and love in every moment. Here is the rub, the dilemma, the closed door for so many people who are unwilling or unable to be curious and sense beyond our five senses, even just a little crack in the armor of doubt. Humans have free will. This fact, this Truth of being a human alive here on Earth, can be a deeply challenging roadblock to the map of our souls. Far too often, we do not want, or we believe we are not able to look within to see our Higher/Spiritual Selves. We often believe that we are less than worthy of self-love and worthy of love from others to some degree or another. Our human egos carry the beliefs, the stories, the fears, and doubts that keep us small. This is why it becomes so difficult to believe that we have a guardian angel who is right beside us waiting, with infinite patience, for us to ask for help! With humans having free will, angels may not intervene unless they are invited by us to do so. This is why it becomes imperative for us to believe that asking is even possible!
When I was a little girl, I felt completely and utterly alone. I was surrounded by family, but the dysfunction and abuse caused a complete breakdown of family bonds. I had a knowing that went beyond my early years to understand that my Guardian Angel was right there beside me offering to help. I held a cherished a belief that I would say over and over again to myself. “Love will always win!” Somehow, I stayed open hearted and sensed this guidance and prayed to be loved and to be safe. I am certain that many of you reading this can remember times in your childhood when your sixth sense, your intuition, gave you the knowing to move beyond a very human moment that needed you to have a courageous heart, I dearly hope that you had experiences that were not as painful, yet I do now understand it is in the many avenues of life’s challenges we have the potential to grow and thrive. To overcome and create more love in the world, starting with our own self-love. As Victor Frankl is his book, Man’s Search for Meaning states that people can survive almost anything if they have meaning in their lives. “He who has a why to live can bear almost any how.” I knew then, so long ago, and I know now that my purpose here is to share what I know to be true of who we are as spiritual beings living our human lives. My own Guardian Angel has helped me continually find the courage to do this very thing. Always coming home to my belief that I AM worthy of self-love and love from others in beautiful and healthy ways, a hard-won realization for me.
We are not meant to do this alone. We are given the greatest gift of connection to our Creator in our guardian angels. When we need help to discover our own truths for living a life that has clearer purpose and meaning, we are a breath away from our angels whose entire purpose is
to unconditionally love and guide us so that we can live our lives with more joy, love, purpose, and harmony. Every single human being born has a purpose here on Earth. Do you have a sense of your soul purpose? Clearly, we have several roles and purposes to play out. Child, sibling, friend, partner, parent, professional, etc., maybe a few of these, maybe all and more. We are also spiritual being seeking to bring greater love and peace to ourselves and each other. For when we love ourselves more, we can love others more. This is where your communication with your own guardian angel can become an amazing part of your life. All you need to do is ask in a way that comes from your heart and mind with sincere gratitude and love. Start small. Say a short prayer, set an intention, take some deep breaths, and simply ask for help. You do not need to have special words or thoughts or intentions. Your guardian angels know you well and are patiently awaiting your invitation to offer their guidance. This may come in several ways. Signs, symbols, messages, synchronicities abound with angel communication. You might hear a song that has meaning for a specific aspect of your life you are questioning. You might see an animal, a bird, an insect that has meaning for you. Animal intuitives have given meaning to many animals that show up for us. There are many websites to check out. You might have a feeling of loving calmness that seems like a warm hug. You might have a dream that offers clarity about a situation you are wanting to resolve. You might see colors with your human eyes that seem to catch your attention or with your mind’s eye as you close your eyes. One of the most common ways our guardian angels let us know they are helping us is to see feathers – in the clouds or on the ground, anywhere. These are a few ways that your guardian angels communicate their love and support to you. The point is to be open and curious if you sense this guidance you are receiving from your guardian angel. Use your imagination as many spiritual teachers believe this to be the starting point to intuition. If you think this thought for even a flash, it most likely is your intuition nudging you to be open to the sign, symbol, message, etc. Be brave and try to believe. You will be amazed. Help is literally standing right next to you in angelic form! Be open, be grateful, listen and feel the love.
As we venture into the interior landscape of our higher selves, with the gentle counsel of our guardian angels, we find the immeasurable gifts of clarity, comfort and meaning that inspires us to go deeper with a knowing that we are so much more than we think we are.
